Types of Gold Jewelry
When it comes to working with gold colored jewelry, I prefer gold-filled. I find it to have great quality (the next best being solid gold), as well as, affordability.
Why Gold-Filled?
The thick layer of gold in gold-filled jewelry is a genuine layer of gold permanently bonded onto a core of jewelers’ brass using an extremely high temperature and a lot of pressure. The core metal, or jewelers’ brass, is copper and zinc. The gold is fused to the underlying core.
At RG Beads, quality and affordability are greatly valued, which is why I choose to use gold-filled materials.
Sterling Silver Jewelry
Sterling silver, similar to gold-filled, consists of a durable outer layer that is bonded to a copper or brass-alloy base or core.
How Do I Care For My RG Beads?
While your jewelry pieces are made with very durable materials, I do not recommend getting them wet (e.g. working out/sweating, in the ocean, in a hot tub or pool), unless to clean. You can clean with warm water and a mild soap and gently dry with a soft cloth.
To prevent snagging/tangling, it’s best to take your jewelry off before you go to sleep.
Avoid excessive contact with chemicals such as those in perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, and especially those in sunscreen. It is recommended to put on your lotion, makeup, etc. and then put on your jewelry after a few minutes.
If you want a deep clean, use the appropriate jewelry cleaner (i.e. gold cleaner for gold-filled and silver for sterling silver)
In addition, you can use a soft polishing cloth so clean your sterling silver
How Do I Choose a Size?
Bracelets
When it comes to sizing, I always recommend sizing up just a smidge. That way you can stack your jewelry on your arm and still be comfortable.
Measuring the Wrist
A soft tape measure works best (check your tailoring or sewing kit!), but if that is not available, you can use a strip of paper, ribbon, or cord. Take said measuring device, mark the end of the strip and then measure the length against a ruler. Yay! You have your wrist size.
- For a snug fit, add ½”
- For a loose fit, add 1”

- M/L: Ring sizes of 6-8
Returns and Exchanges
If you don’t absolutely love your piece, you have 7 days to return your item for a store credit note, exchange, or refund. If you would like a refund please contact me at rgbeads1@gmail.com within 72 hours of receiving the order. In order for the refund to be processed, the piece must be in its original packaging and in the same condition that it arrived in. If I am not contacted within 72 hours, only a store credit or exchange will be available.
